There are many elements that set the Pendray Inn apart from other hotels in Victoria. Nothing is more enchanting, however, than the Pendray Tea House. Guests of the Pendray Inn are treated to a complimentary gourmet breakfast in this historic setting, while all are welcome to indulge in the Pendray Tea House’s signature Victorian-style Afternoon Tea or its newly introduced Scottish High Tea, a hearty evening dining tradition reimagined with a modern twist.
*Please note that the Belleville Terminal in Victoria’s Inner Harbour, located within our vicinity, is undergoing a multi-year redevelopment project led by the Province of British Columbia. As part of this work, some daytime construction noise may be noticeable.

Our History
Long before it was a bed and breakfast, the mansion was a family home – built by William Joseph Pendray, a native of Cornwall, England. Pendray had emigrated to California in 1868, eventually making his way to the Cariboo region of British Columbia to work in the Mosquito Creek mines. After several tumultuous years in the mining industry, during which he made, lost, and re-made his fortune, William settled in Victoria, and turned his attention to a new venture.
Today, the Pendray family home is an iconic fixture on the city’s Inner Harbour landscape, offering a unique insight into the heritage and culture of the Victorian period. With its remarkable history and outstanding service, the one-of-a-kind Pendray Tea House is a destination unlike any other in Victoria. Eat here, and immerse yourself in the elegance of a bygone era.
